Hello there! My name is Elvis, and in spite of a hard life, I truly am a loveable guy! I am a large, intelligent, adult (about 8 years old), neutered male American Bulldog mix. Although I have adjusted well to life at the shelter I long for a home of my own. I walk beautifully on a leash and absolutely love long quiet walks- except when chipmunks, squirrels, or other tiny animals are involved. It seems to me that they are just challenging me to a chase! I get along well with the many people I have met while living at the shelter and enjoy playing with the kind volunteers who spend time with me. I have spent some time in homes during times of crisis, like hurricanes and power outages, and I just know that somewhere out there a home and a special owner are just waiting for me. My "inside manners" are excellent! I am very fussy about socializing with other dogs, and I really would be happiest as the only pet. They tell me at the shelter that I am wonderful and truly deserve a special, understanding owner who will give me a lot of attention and allow me to live in a quiet, loving home. In return, I will be a loyal and loving companion for life.
