Here at Animals for Life, volunteers are one of our most valuable assets. If you would consider giving a small portion of your time, we want to hear from you! Animals for Life will pair you up with an experienced volunteer who can train you in any area that interests you. Some examples of volunteer opportunities at AFL include ...

• Walking and Grooming Dogs
• Helping with shelter laundry
• Filing and computer work
• Becoming an adoption counselor at the canine shelter
• Responding to calls that come in to our Regional Help Line
• Digital Photography and graphic design
• Joining a committee to help with event planning
• Developing humane education programs
• Volunteering your time for AFL adoption and fundraising events
• Becoming a foster parent

Volunteers should wear sturdy, close-toed shoes when volunteering at the shelter and dress in casual, comfortable clothing (jeans and a t-shirt are ideal). Please note that anyone 16 years of age and under must be accompanied by a parent or legal guardian when volunteering at the shelter.

We hold volunteer orientation sessions on the first Wednesday of each month. Join us at 6pm at the shelter (excluding holidays) if you would like to learn more about what we do and how you can help. If you would like join us for an upcoming volunteer orientation session, please contact our Volunteer Coordinator, Patrick Lydem. You can reach Patrick via email at volunteer@animalsforlifect.org to let him know you will be joining us!
